★ Riding a Wave of International Tours: Emerging Mexican Contemporary Theater Talent Makes Taiwan Debut
★ Mother-and-Son Documentary Theater: The Ultimate Dilemma Between Passion and Provision

Theater director Anacarsis Ramos hails from Campeche, one of Mexico's poorest cities. To support her family and fund her son's artistic dream, his mother, Josefina Olaineta, held down over 40 different jobs. She has taken on more business endeavors than her son has read books, watched plays, or dated boyfriends—and with a life lived so colorfully, what could be more fittingly "documentary theater" than having her play herself? Acting has now become her latest international touring gig.

Director | Anacarsis Ramos
(Mexican / Spanish, based in Mexico)
Playwright, set designer, director, and actor. He holds a background in drama and sociology and is a member of PORNOTRÁFICO.
His creative approach centers on the interplay between social reality and media representation, paying particular attention to how fictional narratives operate within state institutions, private spheres, and community contexts. Through poetry, humor, and satire, his work illuminates how reality is constructed through storytelling while unraveling the implicit biases and power structures embedded in mechanisms of representation.
Beyond theater production, he curates and leads arts education projects and performing arts research, and writes about theater for the blog Mataclase.

PORNOTRÁFICO
A Mexico City (CDMX)-based arts collective, PORNOTRÁFICO treats the stage as an arena for experimenting with reality.
The group appropriates diverse cultural artifacts of the globalized era—movie clips, YouTube videos, advertisements, pop songs, and political propaganda—rewriting and remaking them through the lenses of class struggle, colonial history, queer theory, and neurodiversity (with a generous dash of humor whenever possible).
Across most of their works, they employ low-budget remakes, fake subtitles, dubbing, karaoke, cosplay, and documentary theater to challenge artistic elitism and established structures of power.
