TS Crew (Hong Kong)
Founded in 2017 under the leadership of Artistic Director Hugh Cho and Associate Artistic Director Steve Ng Chung-wai, TS Crew is a professional performing arts company. Its members come from diverse backgrounds including film, drama, Chinese opera, dance, martial arts, and acrobatics. They are also core driving forces behind the Hong Kong International Dance Platform "Hong Kong Soul." TS Crew is currently a grant-funded arts company supported by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council.
In recent years, TS Crew has been active on the international stage, invited to perform at major art festivals and events worldwide, including the Busan International Dance Festival (South Korea), the Sziget Festival (Hungary), the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and the 2023 New Year's Eve Countdown in Times Square, New York. Their work No Dragon No Lion won the Asian Arts Award for Best Show at the 2022 Edinburgh Festival Fringe and received nominations for Best Dance and Best Show at the 2023 DarkChat Awards (Edinburgh Fringe).
contact Gonzo (Osaka)
The Osaka-based performing arts group contact Gonzo was co-founded in 2006 by Masaru Kakio and Yuya Tsukahara. The group's name originates from "Gonzo Journalism"—a highly subjective, immersive style of reporting that emerged in the 1970s—reflecting their own artistic method of direct onsite intervention and raw physical experience. contact Gonzo's works frequently blur the lines between performance, combat, and martial arts, exploring the complex, fuzzy boundaries between trust and violence, cooperation and conflict through improvisational and high-tension physical interactions.
The group has performed extensively across Japan and around the globe, presenting works in cities such as Singapore, New York, Moscow, Rio de Janeiro, Reykjavík, Zurich, Budapest, and Ljubljana. Current members include Yuya Tsukahara, Keigo Mikajiri, Takuya Matsumi, and NAZE.
