William Wei (Wei Ching-Yi) is a internationally acclaimed young Taiwanese violinist. He won a laureate prize at the 2015 Queen Elisabeth Competition in Belgium and received the Salon de Virtuosi Career Grant in 2018. As of May 2026, he officially serves as Co-Concertmaster of the Evergreen Symphony Orchestra. His playing style is renowned for its natural, fluid musicality, exquisite emotional nuance, and powerful musical intensity, earning high praise from international critics and masters alike.
Born in Tainan, Taiwan in 1994, Wei moved to the United States at age 16 to study at The Juilliard School under Professors Hyo Kang and I-Hao Lee, supported by the Jerome L. Greene Foundation Scholarship and the Chi Mei Arts Award. He later pursued advanced studies at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin, where he earned his Konzertexamen (Artist Diploma) studying under Kolja Blacher, former concertmaster of the Berlin Philharmonic.
Active on major global stages, Wei has performed as a soloist with distinguished musicians—including conductors Eliahu Inbal, Marin Alsop, Edward Gardner, Wen-Pin Chien, Shao-Chia Lu, and Eiji Oue, as well as artists Gil Shaham, Nai-Yuan Hu, Pei-Yao Wang, Sung-Won Yang, Orien Weiss, and Sunwook Kim. He has collaborated with world-class ensembles such as the Belgian National Orchestra, The Cleveland Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Niederrheinische Sinfoniker, Sejong Soloists, Taiwan Philharmonic (NSO), Taipei Symphony Orchestra, National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra, and Longwood Symphony Orchestra. His performances have graced prestigious venues including Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall in New York, New England Conservatory's Jordan Hall, Palais des Beaux-Arts (BOZAR) in Brussels, Gasteig in Munich, Seoul Arts Center, Museo del Violino in Cremona, National Concert Hall in Taipei, and Weiwuying National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts. In 2026, under the baton of Conductor-in-Residence Jaap van Zweden, he embarks on a new musical milestone with the Evergreen Symphony Orchestra.

Wenyuan Elementary School Choir, Tainan City
Currently comprising around 60 members, the Wenyuan Elementary School Choir of Tainan City has flourished under the dedicated leadership of Principal Tu Yu-Lin. The choir has achieved outstanding success in competitions, consistently earning "Outstanding" awards at the Tainan Student Music Competition, the National Student Music Competition, and the Folk Song Competition.
Principal Tu implements a philosophy centered on humanistic care, respect for diversity, creative teaching, and visionary leadership to serve every student, foster teachers' professional development, and invite quality parental involvement—enabling the ensemble to highlight the school's unique character through choral music. Since its inception, backed by former principals and the committed leadership of instructors Shi Ya-Ling, Lin Chi-Cheng, and collaborative pianist Chen Yu-Ai, the choir has earned the praise and support of faculty, students, parents, and the local community. It continues to provide students with enriching opportunities to learn choral music, filling the campus with joyful song.

Currently instructor for the choirs at Wenyuan Elementary School and Po-Jen Elementary School. Former advisor for the Arts and Humanities Domain in the Tainan Curriculum and Instruction Advisory Group. Recipient of the 2009 Tainan Special Teacher Award ("Teachers' Excellence Award"), bringing rich experience and achievement to music and choral pedagogy.

Mountain Mist Choir (Shan-Lan Choir)
The Mountain Mist Choir was founded by a group of choral enthusiasts in Tainan, dedicated to sharing beautiful vocal music that lingers like mountain mist—flowing freely and echoing softly in people's hearts.
Founded in late 2016 by Ms. Lin Shu-Chin, the choir was originally directed by Dr. Chang Cheng-Pu and is currently under the guidance of guest conductor Ms. Chen Si-Wan. Shortly after its formation, the ensemble gave its critically acclaimed debut on Christmas Eve 2016 alongside the NCKU Choir at the invitation of Canaan Church.
Key Performances & Milestones:
August 2018: Taiwan-Japan Friendly Exchange Concert in Sendai, Japan (enthusiastic reception).
2020: Invited by the Taiwan Soloists Symphony Orchestra to perform at their 20th Anniversary Concerts at Weiwuying (Kaohsiung) and the Tainan Cultural Center; performed at the Tainan Arts Festival in November.
October 2021: Invited by the Tainan Symphony Orchestra to perform at the Tainan International Music Festival.
May & September 2024: Performed the Tainan 400: Fort Zeelandia concert with the Tainan Symphony Orchestra (May) and the Taiwan Soloists Symphony Orchestra (September).
